How long does the translation take?
It runs as a background job, so you can close the browser while it works. The time depends on the size of your site, the model you pick and your provider's rate limits: minutes on a small site with a fast paid model, longer on a large site or with free models. Afterwards every visitor gets the translated version straight from your local database, with no API request on page view.
Is it difficult to set up?
No, installation takes a few clicks. Activate your licence, paste an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral or OpenRouter, pick your languages and start. OpenRouter is the easiest start, with some free models (with limits).
Can it replace WPML or Polylang?
Yes, if every language uses the same structure. NagataPress translates content 1:1 across languages. If you need pages that exist only in some languages, it is not the right fit.
Is dynamic page-builder content translated?
Yes. NagataPress translates the final page, so text from builders such as Bricks or Elementor, including dynamic data, is translated at render time as soon as that text has a stored translation. New strings are picked up by the next bulk run, by auto-translation on publish, or in the frontend editor.
Which languages are supported?
75 languages plus 10 regional variants such as pt-BR, en-GB and fr-CA, with no cap on how many you enable. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu get right-to-left styling automatically.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes, in every licence. Products, attributes, cart and checkout are translated, each order remembers its language, and customer e-mails can go out in that language.
What happens if I deactivate the plugin?
Nothing is deleted. Your translations and settings stay in your database, but while the plugin is inactive your site shows the original language only. Reactivate it and the translated pages are served again.
Is my API key safe, and where does my content go?
Keys are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) in your own database. Text goes from your server directly to the AI provider you choose, never through our servers, and the plugin sets no cookies for your visitors.
Can I translate without an API key?
Experimentally, yes. Connect an AI assistant you already pay for, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, through the built-in MCP endpoint and let it translate in batches. It stays off until you switch it on.
Can I fix a translation by hand?
Yes. Open the frontend editor from the admin bar, click any string on the page and edit it. Manual edits are never overwritten by later automatic runs.
What do I need to run it?
WordPress 5.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer, an active licence and an API key from your AI provider. HTTPS and pretty permalinks are only needed if you connect an AI assistant.
